A second life for my candle
We collect dozens of candles. Small or large, round or square, transparent or colored: it's simple, our home looks like a master glassmaker's lair. At Estéban, most candles are refillable: refills allow you to extend the life of your favorite candle but also to vary scented pleasures (20 scents available). However, you can also collect candle holders according to your desires and decorative trends. So, you might as well give them a second life, of course.
Flower pot, pencil pot, small storage, there's no shortage of ideas for recycling your favorite candle container! Estéban shares some ideas from our customers:

Step 1: Complete cleaning of the holder
The preliminary step of any candle holder recycling is of course cleaning the holder, i.e. removing any wax residues. Even after complete combustion, there is sometimes a little wax left at the bottom of the holder, which prevents its perfect reuse. By cleaning it, the possibilities of reuse will be greatly improved.
In practice, there is a trick that makes cleaning easier: putting the candle in the freezer. At first glance, this trick may seem surprising. Nevertheless, it proves to be quite effective in stiffening the wax and detaching it from the glass wall, which allows for a solid texture that can be easily unmolded. By scraping the wax, it will then come off effortlessly. For optimal unmolding, leave your candle pot overnight in the freezer.
After scraping off the wax and removing the 3 remaining wicks as well as the metal wick holder, simply clean the inside with a little soapy water and a sponge.
Once cleaned, you can then reuse your holder for another purpose. A simple, creative and eco-responsible gesture!
Step 2: Find a new use for your candle
The flower pot
As a cachepot or as a flower pot, your 3-wick candle holder will quickly find its place near the window or on the balcony.
For use as a cachepot: simply insert your flower pot (whose diameter will necessarily be smaller than that of the candle holder) inside.
To transform the holder into a flower pot:
Once the holder is clean, place some clay pebbles (or gravel) at the bottom of the holder: this will allow for drainage. Add a little potting soil on top (standard or specific to the plant you wish to repot, such as special soil for cacti or succulents, for example) and carefully place your plant in the holder, filling the spaces between the plant and the glass walls with the rest of the potting soil. Water your plant right after repotting and place it near a light source (while avoiding direct and permanent exposure to the sun, the idea being not to grill it).
The pencil pot
The pencil pot is also a clever, easy and quick recycling idea to implement. The unique design of your container will bring a touch of cheer to your workspace once filled with supplies. We might as well warn you, its large size strongly encourages turning it into a catch-all – so beware of all those little things scattered on the desk, they shouldn't be lying around for too long.
Another diversion idea is to use these pretty vases as decorative pieces for guest tables. For example, if you are organizing a themed meal, simply fill the vase with objects related to it (sand and shells for a seaside atmosphere, candies of all colors for a birthday party, etc.). All fantasies are possible!
The pot for makeup
Ladies, you can also recycle your candle holder into a pretty container for the bathroom to store makeup brushes, nail polish, samples or even cotton pads. Thus, your utensils are beautifully displayed and your cotton pads find a new home, much more elegant than their usual plastic packaging (and easier to access).
