Are you interested in essential oil diffusers and wondering which solution to choose to scent your home? Before investing in a device, it's essential to understand the differences between pure essential oil diffusers and fragrance concentrate diffusers, like those offered by Estéban Paris Parfums. In this guide, discover everything you need to know to make the right choice based on your needs.

What is an essential oil diffuser?
An essential oil diffuser is a device specifically designed to disperse pure essential oils into the ambient air. Primarily used in aromatherapy, these devices allow you to benefit from the properties of 100% natural plant essences extracted by distillation or cold pressing.
Essential oils: definition and use
Concentrated extracts from aromatic plants (Sweet Orange, Fir, Verbena, lavender, peppermint, etc.), essential oils have been used since antiquity for their potential therapeutic virtues. In aromatherapy, they are used pure or diluted in water.
Technologies for diffusing essential oils
Essential oil diffusers can use different technologies:
· Ultrasonic diffusers: cold misting by mixing water and essential oils
· Nebulizing diffusers: diffusion of pure essential oils without water or heat
· Gentle heat diffusers: evaporation of essential oils by gentle heating
· Ventilation diffusers: propulsion of essential oils by an airflow
Estéban diffusers: a different approach to scenting your home
At Estéban Paris Parfums, our electric diffusers are not essential oil diffusers. These are devices specifically designed to diffuse our interior fragrance concentrates, and this distinction is fundamental.
An essential technical precision
All Estéban brand diffusers are specially designed to work with Estéban fragrance concentrates. We inform you that most of our electric diffusers operate using an ultrasonic system for cold misting. For waterless and cordless models, it is a pulsed air technology. Use with certain essential oils for aromatherapy function has never been tested by us. We therefore cannot recommend this use.
We strongly recommend using your electric fragrance mist diffusers only with our fragrance concentrates for the following reasons:
· Specific formulation: our concentrates have a different chemical composition from pure essential oils
· Material compatibility: our diffusers are optimized for the viscosity and properties of our concentrates. No compatibility tests on other products from brands other than ours have been carried out, so we do not guarantee their proper functioning.

Why Estéban fragrance diffusers are an alternative to essential oil diffusers?
If you're exploring essential oil diffuser options, you're likely looking for a solution to create a pleasant olfactory ambiance in your home. Estéban diffusers can be an interesting, albeit different, alternative for several reasons.

1. Nature-inspired fragrances
Although our concentrates are not pure essential oils, they may contain natural extracts traditionally used in aromatherapy:
Natural floral notes:
· Ylang-ylang: exotic and enveloping scent
· Neroli (bitter orange blossom): delicate and refined note
· Jasmine: sensual and sophisticated floral essence
· Orange blossom: comforting Mediterranean sweetness
Woody and herbaceous notes:
· Cedar: noble and soothing woody character
· Lemongrass: toning and invigorating freshness
These fragrances are integrated into complex scented compositions, with top, heart, and base notes, to create rich and long-lasting olfactory ambiances.
2. Similar technology to ultrasonic diffusers
Our electric diffusers use the same ultrasonic technology as many essential oil diffusers:
Our diffusers use the cold misting process, which preserves the integrity of the scents. For most of our models, it is therefore necessary to mix our concentrates with water for optimal diffusion in the form of a fine mist which, in addition to offering a unique olfactory atmosphere, allows for a slight humidification of the ambient air. Finally, they are extremely quiet, allowing you to use them without constraints in a soothing atmosphere.
However, this technological similarity does not mean interchangeability of products. Each type of diffuser must be used with the products for which it was designed.
The novelty at Estéban Paris Parfums is our new pulsed air technology for waterless diffusion. Our Édition Origine fragrance mist diffuser will allow you to scent up to 100 m² in your home.
Operation and technical characteristics of Estéban fragrance diffusers
Our diffusers share certain characteristics with ultrasonic essential oil diffusers, while being specifically adapted to our concentrates:
· Water tank: capacity from 100 to 300 ml depending on the model
· Programming: continuous or intermittent mode
· LED lighting: customizable light ambiance
· Automatic shut-off: safety in case of an empty tank
· Battery life: 2 to 8 hours depending on the model and settings
Design and aesthetics
At Estéban Paris Parfums, in addition to being creators of scents, we are also creators of decorative objects. We offer about twenty models in various styles and colors, designed with noble materials such as wood or ceramic, for example. We thus offer a variety of models and exclusive, limited collections.
Using your Estéban diffuser to create a natural ambiance

Although our diffusers are not intended for aromatherapy, you can create atmospheres evoking certain benefits.
For a relaxing atmosphere: Opt for our concentrates with notes of neroli or orange blossom. These soft fragrances create an ambiance conducive to relaxation, ideal for the living room or bedroom.
For an invigorating ambiance: Choose concentrates with notes of lemongrass or citrus for a fresh and toning atmosphere, perfect for the office or kitchen.
For a warm atmosphere: Woody fragrances like cedar or intense florals like ylang-ylang and jasmine bring a cozy and enveloping touch.

Room fragrance diffusers or essential oil diffusers: two complementary approaches to olfactory well-being
If you are looking for information on essential oil diffusers for aromatherapy purposes, it is important to choose a device specifically designed for this use and to learn about best practices.
If, on the other hand, you wish to create a pleasant olfactory ambiance in your home, inspired by natural scents but without the complexity of aromatherapy, Estéban Paris Parfums diffusers represent an excellent alternative. Our devices, specially designed for our fragrance concentrates, allow you to enjoy fragrances inspired by nature (Cherry, ylang-ylang, neroli, jasmine, cedar, orange blossom, lemongrass) in sophisticated scented compositions.
The fundamental difference: essential oil diffusers are intended for aromatherapy with pure plant extracts, while Estéban diffusers are designed for ambient fragrancing with our exclusive fragrance concentrates.
Two different approaches, two distinct uses, but one common goal: to create well-being through scents.
